san carlos is really beautiful. what i like about peñasco is the meeting of the sea and the desert, and san carlos is quite similar, but even better because it has mountains as well (i miss mountains). they are really beautiful!
hace algunas semanas, iván y yo nos ibamos a la area de san carlos y guaymas por la boda, de una conocida de iván por el proyecto PANGAS. por medio del consejo de CEDO, conozco a alguien que tiene un condo en san carlos y nos lo prestó por el fin (que suerte), entonces nos aprovechamos la oportunidad para bucear en san carlos.
san carlos es muy bonita. que me gusta de peñasco es que el mar y el desierto se encuentren y san carlos es muy similar, pero aun mejor porque tiene montañas tambien (las extraño aquí en peñasco). son muy hermosas!
we dove from the beach in the morning, and i used my new camera (after the old one drowned at rocas consag) - it takes great fotos! we swam out to a little island just off shore.
haciamos un buceo de la playa en la mañana, y yo usaba mi nueva camera (después se ahogaba la ultima en rocas consag) - toma fotos muy buenas! nadábamos a una isleta justo a fuera de la costera.
and we saw lots of invertebrates (my favorites!). even though the water was quite cold, it was fabulous .. (bear with me for all the photos of inverts. i can't help it)

while i was looking at all the inverts, ivan was searching for scallops to kill them and then feed the fish (and for him too). this is a perfect example of the differences between us - i love the inverts and he has spent a lot of time with fishermen, so he thinks like one even when we are diving just for fun :p
cuando yo estaba mirando los invertebrados, iván buscaba callos para matarlos y luego alimentar a los peces (y a si mismo). este es un ejemplo perfecto de las diferencias entre nosotros - me fascinan los invertebrados y él ha pasado mucho tiempo con pescadores entonces esta pensando como uno aun cuando estemos buceando por diversion :p
then that afternoon, we went to the wedding. what really interested me about this wedding was that it was between a mexican and an american .. and this is important to me since i'm in a relation right now with a mexican and it makes one think a lot about intercultural relationships, how they work, etc.. relatives of both of them went and the ceremony was in english and in spanish. it was very cool to see how they managed it and even more to see the mix between the two cultures.
and of course, the wedding was on the beach and beautiful, stunning, amazing ... everything that you think a wedding should be.
luego en la tarde nos íbamos a la boda. lo que a mi me interes era que la boda era entre una mexicana y un estadounidense ... y este me llama mucha la atención pues estoy en una relación ahora con un mexicano y se hace pensar mucho en relaciones interculturales ... como funciona, etc.. familiares de los dos se iban a la ceremonia y estaba en ingles y en español. era muy padre a ver como lo manejaban y aun mas a ver como mezclan las dos culturas.
y por supuesto, la boda estaba en la playa y bonita, hermosa, preciosa ... todo lo que pienses como una boda debería ser.
we danced all night and had a great time. wonderful to share things like this with people i care about.
bailábamos toda la noche y lo pasábamos muy bien. es increíble compartir este evento con las personas a quienes quiero.
