monday was marathon monday - a big holiday here at boston college. i was away from tv, the internet, any news source for the majority of the day. and when i came home, i read about the tragedy that occurred at virginia tech.
i really have nothing to say - just ... reaching my heart out to the students and families and entire community.
as i stood in st. ignatius last night during the candlelight vigil, i looked around and saw the church packed with students crying, and hugging one another, and ... i just hope that vtech knows how much they are in our thoughts and prayers ...

run baby run
today was the last marathon monday at bc.
and actually my first at bc. since freshmen year i was with my family in newton cheering on my dad, sophomore year at brad's apartment, junior year in new zealand. but this year, i woke up early to have breakfast and mimosas and went outside to cheer on the runners in the rain and cold (not as bad as expected though).
my dad said after he ran the boston marathon that it is an incredible experience to have people lining the street the entire way cheering you on. and i love standing there clapping and screaming and yelling encouragement.
and, of course, seeing the kenyans win
